ABOUT SAND HILLS
Since 1973, Sand Hills Literary Magazine has been committed to publishing the highest quality creative writing and visual art in print every Spring —including work by award-winning authors Louise Shivers and Judith Ortiz Cofer. More recently, magazine contributors have also published in Oxford American, Seventeen, and Playboy.
Sand Hills brings together new and established voices from diverse backgrounds. We are looking for works that celebrate different perspectives. We want writers to submit their truths, their fictions — to share their humanity.
We publish the poetry, prose (creative nonfiction and fiction), and visual art created by individuals currently residing in the U.S. All general submissions are read blind by the Sand Hills staff.
While we do accept simultaneous submissions, we do not accept previously published work (including self-published material in print or online). If your work is accepted elsewhere, please withdraw your work from Sand Hills as soon as possible.
Our editorial board annually selects the best art, poetry, and prose submissions and marshals the magazine through all phases of production.
